With a Master of Arts in Teaching, Nancy always worked in education, both as a teacher and as an administrator. She taught at all levels, including colleges and universities. Although she taught French early on, most of her career was in Special Education, with a focus on children with serious behavioral and learning problems. She served as a Special Education Director for the last half of her career.

In 2009, Nancy discovered the Servant Leadership School while mentoring with the Johnson Service Corps. In 2018, while she continued her journey as a student of SLS, she also started facilitating Foundations 101: Faith Reimagined (formerly known as SL1/Inward Journey). In the past five years, she’s facilitated the course both virtually and in-person in her capacity as a certified Second Breath Conscious Facilitator.

Nancy found the Faith Reimagined class to be transformational in her own life. It brought her a renewed faith experience that she never expected. She has now been practicing and facilitating this material for the past 14 years and has seen participants touched, challenged and transformed as they apply these practices in their own lives. She hopes to create a safe container for participants where they feel supported and honored in their own exploration. Nancy’s steadfast dedication to learning and growing is a gift, and she has offered steady grounding for the Center and students over the years.

In addition to facilitating Faith Reimagined, Nancy has co-created and facilitated You Are Not Alone: Loving Someone with Addiction. She understands the effects of the family disease of addiction from personal experience. She has found the wisdom path of recovery to be in complete alignment with the path and practice of Second Breath.

A fun fact about Nancy: when she retired, she started a small company called China Dolls that rented vintage china for events. Also, she loves to dance. Her favorite Second Breath app practice is Psalm 23.
