Additional information

Reiki is an ancient practice, originating in Japan, that focuses life-force energy through light touch to facilitate the body’s healing process. Reiki is categorized as bio-field therapy and research shows that it activates the parasympathetic nervous system which helps the mind-body connection.

It is a natural, non-invasive hands-on healing technique that can reduce pain, nausea, anxiety, and improve sleep. It is a complementary therapy that supports physical and emotional wellness and often leaves participants feeling calm and energized.

Reiki is not: Associated with a religion or faith, invasive or intrusive. There is no tissue manipulation, and it is not dangerous in any way.

The topics covered during the half-day workshop are:

  • History of Reiki
  • Hand positions for self-treatments and treatments of others
