True Self: Exploring Our Deepest Wisdom in this State of Great Disturbance

At Second Breath, we understand that our True Self—“the Self God has in mind for us” and our False Self or “the Self we became instead” can baffle us. In this workshop, we will look at the writings of Thomas Merton, evidenced-based psychological models, and spiritual practices to access our deepest wisdom. We will examine some of our habits that keep us stuck in False Self and invite us into the healing presence of Divine Love to move us towards our True Self.

Three-Centered Knowing: Experience Fullness of Life Through the Wisdom of the Body, Heart, and Mind Workshop

When asked, “What is the greatest commandment?” Jesus of Nazareth responded, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind.” We believe his response was not casual or coincidental but that Jesus is specifically naming three centers of intelligence. As a Wisdom teacher, he is calling those who would follow him to a new consciousness that involves knowing and loving God with all three; mind and heart and soul (which includes the body and the will). This is the path that leads us to “fullness of life” and to live fully awake.
Come ready to experience a workshop full of spiritual practices and engaging teaching that allows us to experience three centered knowing, shift our awareness, connect with our deepest longing and learn how to embrace God’s dream for a transformed world.

Second Breath Enneagram: An Introduction

At Second Breath, we offer the wisdom of the Enneagram in the context of our journey toward spiritual wholeness and our shift from ordinary awareness to spiritual awareness in our daily life.
The Enneagram is a tool to help us develop into the person God “had in mind” and as an instrument that guides us towards our True Self?
In this introductory offering, we will cover the following:
- Defining the Enneagram
- Exploring the 3 centers of intelligence (Body, Heart and Mind)
- Examining the Nine personality types and looking at how each views and reacts to the world
- Engaging spiritual practices that honors each center of intelligence
Second Breath offers a variety of tools that will be referenced to facilitate spiritual development based on the three centers of intelligence.

Second Breath Change

This workshop will focus on practical strategies and spiritual practices that help you make the changes you desire in your life. Whether you want to establish a regular spiritual practice, or you want to read more, get another job, lose weight, start yoga or simply be more patient and present as a parent, this workshop will provide you with practical information from the world of science and spirituality to bring about remarkable shifts in your life. We will work with our three centers of intelligence—body, heart and mind—and engage the energy of each to make changes in our lives. Other topics will include: why small changes make a huge difference; how to start a new habit; why the principles of gradual and repetition are important; how perfectionism and comparison are not friends with change; what we do with fears and set backs; the beauty of making the change satisfying; and how to stay motivated. With humor and support from one another, we can begin this new year with focus on how to make change which has the potential to make this year unfold in miraculous ways.
