IJA: Lesson 2: Topic 1: Reflecting on Lens

Are there any stories you used to tell yourself that are no longer part of your framing story? What did you formerly believe or hold to be true that no longer has power over you? What was the process of letting go of that “old paradigm” like for you?

Take some time to look through one of your favorite magazines, watching TV, or scrolling through social media. Make a list of any messages you find that prop up the dominant culture of accumulation, competition and power.

Once you’ve made your list, see if you can imagine and describe any alternative paradigms that embrace generativity, collaboration and compassion.
