About
THE CENTER
At Second Breath Center, we are able to offer spiritual practices, programs, and space for belonging and becoming through the generosity of our community members, grants, and family foundations. Some of our gathering spaces are offered freely. Others are offered on a sliding scale payment structure. Cost will never be a barrier to accessing our classes. We provide scholarships by request for retirees, students, and those experiencing financial need up to 100% cost. There is no burden of proof and no strings attached. Simply fill out this short form to request a scholarship.
Everything we do is grounded in and springs from our core tenets. These tenets evolve as we – the organization, the community, the world – evolve. Most recently, in response to an ever-polarized nation and as we are exploring our history as a predominantly white community in a city with rich racial diversity and a proud legacy of racial justice and civil rights advocacy, we have committed a new core tenet that grounds our approach to work: Strength in Perspectives.
We believe there is strength in broadened perspectives; in listening, in learning, and in allowing for transformation in yourself. We have found that this transformation seems to influence the way you are, see and interact with the world – and this transformation is always a part of a journey. gatherings
Join us weekly on Wednesdays at noon on Zoom for a 30 minute spiritual practice. Whether you are new to meditation or an experienced practitioner, this is a space for authenticity, connection, and care.
EVERY WEDNESDAY | 12 PM EST
Last fall, at the inaugural annual Community Listening Session, we heard a longing for opportunities to come together in person outside of the “classroom” setting. When we hear a call, we seek to respond! As such we’re hosting a community potluck to celebrate the end of spring semester. No agenda: just good food and good company.
TUESDAY, MAY 14 | 6-8 PM EST
